The Flushing Remonstrance 350
Celebrating 350 Years of Religious Tolerance in America
Please join us on Wednesday December 27th, 2006 for a Candlelight March for Religious Tolerance.  This activity will launch Borough President Helen Marshall’s yearlong celebration of The Flushing Remonstrance, the courageous act of conscience by English colonists in the small town of Flushing which nearly 350 years ago launched the American struggle for religious tolerance.

The event will begin 7 pm in the auditorium of MS189Q/Flushing International High School, 144-80 Barclay Avenue (off of Parsons Blvd), where representatives from the community and the Borough President’s Office will greet participants.

At 8 pm we will begin the Candlelight March that will pass some of the great landmarks of spiritual and religious freedom in Flushing.
